Job summary

Unity is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist to build and maintain advanced systems for understanding user behavior across Unity’s applications. You will enhance ad ranking, conversion predictions, and recommendation systems to enable richer behavioral models and smarter bidding strategies.

The role requires an advanced degree and 5+ years in ads systems, with 3+ years in content understanding and profiling. Proficiency in Python/Go/Scala/C++ and strong data analytics are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS, ML, Statistics or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years building and operating large-scale Ads delivery and optimization systems.
• 3+ years in content understanding, behavior modeling, user profiling, and cohort analysis.
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, C++ or similar.
• Knowledge of metric design, experimentation methodologies, and large-scale data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain user understanding models.
• Monitor model performance and address data drift or delayed feedback.
• Collaborate with leads to set long-term direction and oversee engineering design and project execution.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-engineering stakeholders.
