Job summary

Qualified Health is hiring a Staff Applied AI Engineer to own how we build and scale agentic workflows across our product lines. You will define architectural patterns, reusable infrastructure, and engineering standards enabling the team to move fast and stay reliable.

You will partner with engineering leadership, product, and design to translate healthcare AI challenges into scalable systems and serve as a technical anchor for fellow engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software, including 2+ years with AI-powered apps using LLMs.
• Experience architecting REST APIs and cloud deployments (GCP preferred).
• Strong MLOps, model deployment, and workflow automation experience.
• Ability to drive technical decisions amid ambiguity with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build the core agentic workflow infrastructure supporting 100+ workflows across multiple product lines.
• Set technical standards and reusable patterns for agentic workflow development across teams.
• Lead design and code review for complex, cross-cutting integrations and production services.
• Drive evaluation and adoption decisions for state-of-the-art LLMs across use cases.
• Mentor engineers on production-grade agentic system design, MLOps practices, and shipping fast with reliability.
• Partner with product, engineering, and design leadership to shape the technical roadmap for AI-powered features.
• Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks in the workflow infrastructure before they block the team.
