Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. is seeking a Staff Application Engineer to drive system-level validation and optimization of memory systems with a focus on USB protocols.

You will validate products via bench measurements, analyze memory modules for performance and power efficiency, and build automation tools to support data collection and analysis. The role requires strong expertise in analog/digital power management, USB PHY measurements, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in power management, USB protocol testing, memory systems; 3+ years on DDR5 or similar memory tech is a plus.
• Hands-on validation of analog, digital, and power management devices.
• Strong USB physical layer measurement and electrical compliance testing knowledge.
• Automation experience using LabVIEW or Python; ability to develop bench automation and data collection tools.
• Experience providing customer support and producing technical collateral such as reports and datasheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Validate new memory products against standards and customer requirements with bench measurements.
• Analyze memory modules to improve performance and power efficiency.
• Develop bench automation software and simulation tools for system-level analysis.
• Provide technical support during product development and integration phases.
• Collaborate with design, product, test, packaging and other teams to meet specifications.
• Prepare specifications, datasheets, power analysis reports and test plans.
