FanDuel, based in New York with Jersey City offices, is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer for the Sports Modeling & Innovation team. You will design, build, and scale data models and pipelines that power data scientists, analysts, and traders, starting with real-time ingestion and scrapers, expanding to international soccer data.

The role emphasizes mentoring, best practices, and pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions in a fast-moving environment. Strong curiosity about AI is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of experience in analytics/data engineering roles (senior/lead)
• 4+ years designing and maintaining databases and data ingestion pipelines, incl. real-time ingestion and web scraping
• Deep understanding of relational databases
• Proficient in SQL, Databricks, R/Python, Tableau, AWS S3, command line
• Experience building production data pipelines with Python/R and Databricks; medallion architecture experience
• Bachelor's degree, numerate major preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Mentoring engineers and elevating team practices
• Comfort with ambiguity in early-stage builds
• Exposure to sports data is a plus

Aufgaben

• Architect and build pipelines for fast (often real-time) ingestion into data stores
• Build and maintain scrapers and validation pipelines for external data
• Own the medallion architecture and data transformation jobs across the global project
• Establish scalable database management and automated data cleaning
• Balance memory vs. speed tradeoffs to optimize projects
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver data products and dashboards
• Mentor analytics engineers and promote best practices
• Influence technical strategy and roadmap in a fast-moving environment
• Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies is beneficial
