$211,800 – $306,625 / yr. Location: Culver City, CA. Hybrid work arrangement with senior responsibilities in leading VFX tooling and production readiness.

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years in VFX engineering, pipeline TD, or tools development with shipped film/episodic credits.
  • Deep production VFX workflow knowledge: compositing, 3D, rendering, look-dev, previs/postvis.
  • Working understanding of generative AI fundamentals: diffusion models, LoRA, ControlNet, prompt engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++, Rust, or TypeScript for production-quality code.
  • Familiarity with VFX data standards: OpenEXR, ACES, USD, Alembic, OpenColorIO.

Responsibilities

  • Build and validate AI-driven VFX workflows, integrating Firefly Foundry's custom diffusion and video models into compositing, look-dev, previs, and virtual production.
  • Solve production challenges including temporal coherence, art-directability, lighting matching, and fidelity.
  • Own integration surfaces across Nuke, Houdini, Maya, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D.
  • Translate studio engagement insights into product requirements for engineering teams.
  • Implement multi-modal model orchestration across image, video, animation, and 3D generation.
  • Engage studio and VFX leadership through technical presentations and workshops.
  • Document repeatable playbooks, architectures, and deployment patterns.
