Job summary

DiDi Autonomous Driving, in San Jose, seeks a Staff or Principal AI Transformation Engineer to drive company-wide AI transformation with cutting-edge LLM expertise and enterprise-scale scaling. You will blend architecture with hands-on coding, embedding with core teams to evolve the R&D group into an AI-native powerhouse.

You will lead AI infrastructure design, MLOps, and a forward-looking technical roadmap to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

Proven technical leader who can design complex, system-level architectures while writing core code and debugging deep system issues.
Proven ability to influence multiple engineering teams toward an AI-first paradigm without formal authority.
Experience leading or heavily contributing to enterprise-grade AI/ML platforms from 0 to 1.
Hands-on deployment, tuning, and optimization of mainstream AI infrastructure tools and frameworks (PyTorch, Ray, vLLM, etc.).
Deep experience with distributed LLM training/inference and large-scale compute cluster operations.

Responsibilities

AI Infrastructure & Platform Architecture: evaluate, integrate, and design a unified AI platform across data processing, training, inference, and evaluation.
Forward Deployed Execution: embed with core autonomous driving teams to translate AI capabilities into production ecosystems.
LLMOps / MLOps: design scalable automation pipelines for deployment, monitoring, and feedback; optimize GPU utilization and latency.
Technical Roadmap & Vision: stay ahead on AGI trends and ensure a 1–3 year competitive edge.
