Job summary

Temporal Technologies is hiring a Staff Software Engineer - Agent Optimization to lead our agent optimization efforts. You will design tools and mechanisms to help users build agents optimized for token spend and response time while maintaining quality.

You will explore model routing, multi-agent architectures, cache policies, and context management. You will collaborate with the AI Foundations team and peers working on agent development, ecosystem integrations, policy and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience optimizing AI systems.
• Experience with generative AI, particularly for agents and coding.
• Strong API design and technical writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead agent optimization efforts and design scalable tools.
• Develop multi-agent architectures, caching, and context management.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure reliability and good developer experience.
• Write public documentation of Temporal concepts and APIs.
• Travel to meet teammates 1–2 weeks per year; engage with developer community.
