Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Staff Security Software Engineer for its AI Security Engineering team. You will define the architecture and standards for AI security tooling that spans threat detection, behavioral monitoring, and automated assessment of AI components, while aligning with product security and detection pipelines.

You will drive scalable AI security capabilities, mentor engineers, and shape the roadmap across security and product teams to protect our AI platform at scale.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in security software engineering or related discipline.
• Expert Python engineering with production-scale systems.
• Deep expertise in AI/ML security, adversarial ML, prompt injection, and model security.
• Experience designing security tooling architectures spanning multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and technical strategy for Databricks' AI security tooling platform.
• Set engineering standards: design reviews, reliability, observability, security properties, integration patterns.
• Own decisions on scaling, product security integration, and tooling buy vs. build vs. open-source.
• Lead design and development of AI platform capabilities at production scale (behavioral analysis, prompt injection detection).
• Define methodology for AI security assessment against threat models prior to deployment and continuous monitoring.
• Drive AI red-teaming tooling with automated adversarial testing.
