Job summary

1X is shaping the next generation of autonomous robotics, with the NEO platform and a world-class Applied AI team. You will design and ship production-grade APIs and data pipelines that fuel training and inference for the world model, collaborating with researchers and developers across the stack.

You'll work closely with the World Model team to pretrain models and integrate AI into hardware and software. We value practical builders who move fast, own their work, and communicate clearly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with ML/AI in production.
• Strong Python and JavaScript/TypeScript skills; expandable, testable software.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and cloud deployment.
• Clear communication to lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Build platform APIs for training data and world model integration.
• Develop data validation, auto-captioning/annotation APIs.
• Collaborate with World Model team to pretrain a new world model.
• Optimize systems for latency, cost, and quality.
• Work with researchers, product engineers, and customers to ensure reliability.
