Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a deeply technical Staff Engineer to own significant portions of the operating load for workplace AI. You will configure AI platforms, manage connectors, and ensure secure, observable production deployments.

You will translate production realities into governance artifacts and risk assessments, while supporting incident responses and training. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership to drive reliable, compliant AI operations.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years in platform/DevOps/SRE or ML/AI operations.
• Hands-on with APIs, integrations, and infrastructure-as-config concepts.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools and incident response.
• Experience with at least one AI/automation platform (LLMs, RPA, etc.).
• Secure secrets management and access control practices.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain AI platforms and orchestration tools.
• Manage connectors, integrations, and data access paths.
• Own observability wiring: logs, metrics, alerts for AI workflows.
• Handle secrets and access hygiene across systems.
• Execute model/configuration changes in production with proper rollback.
• Support evaluations and benchmarking to inform governance and roadmap.
• Translate technical signals into governance and risk narratives.
