Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Core AI Infrastructure to own end-to-end delivery of AI products, build scalable distributed systems, and design developer-facing tooling. You will drive platform adoption, set architectural patterns, and mentor engineers while collaborating with senior leadership in a fast-paced, incubator-style environment.

The role focuses on ensuring reliability, observability, and security at scale, with opportunities to work across teams and influence

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience automating and supporting cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads in production.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go with Git-based CI/CD workflows.
• Platform-builder mindset with reusable infrastructure and APIs adopted across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI products by building production-grade distributed systems and deployment orchestration.
• Design APIs and tooling to enable product teams to integrate AI capabilities with minimal bespoke infra.
• Collaborate with cross-platform teams to align infrastructure requirements and define shared contracts.
• Shape engineering standards, mentor engineers, and improve observability and reliability.
• Build full-stack applications powering internal AI products and infrastructure using Go or Python.
