Job summary

PVR Cinemas is seeking an Applied AI Engineer / Staff Agent Engineer to design, build, and scale AI agents for the industrial supply chain and staffing space. You will own features end-to-end, from discovery to production, with platform engineering across backend, orchestration, evaluation, and monitoring.

Location-based onsite role in San Francisco, CA with a USD 200,000–300,000 annual base salary and a strong equity offering.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building 0-to-1 AI agent products in production.
• Ownership of products/features from conception to deployment.
• Strong Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with AI agent orchestration, deployment, and observability.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; on-site work in SF/NY.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered agents to automate staffing workflows.
• Build systems for worker sourcing, screening, verification, matching, and shift placement.
• Architect and develop scalable backend services and APIs.
• Develop real-time matching and vetting pipelines using ML and agents.
• Own AI agent features end-to-end from discovery to deployment.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations to achieve business outcomes.
• Architect end-to-end AI agent platforms, including runtimes and integrations.
• Design model strategies, prompts, memory, and evaluation frameworks.
• Build datasets, graders, and experiments to measure agent quality.
• Implement monitoring and reliability for production AI systems.
• Integrate AI agents with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems.
• Establish best practices for AI-assisted software development.
• Work with customers to identify problems and translate insights into product capabilities.
• Contribute to technical strategy and long-term platform development.
• Mentor engineers and grow the team.
