Job summary

FloQast is seeking a Staff AI Engineer on the Core AI team to architect, build, and scale AI products powering our accounting automation platform. You will set platform standards enabling distributed AI execution across the company and lead the technical direction for AI initiatives.

You’ll design production AI systems, mentor an expanding team, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Security to ensure compliant, robust AI solutions in the regulated accounting space.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with 4+ years focused on building backend for production applications.
• Mastery of Python and familiarity with AI frameworks.
• Experience designing products that integrate with APIs and data sources in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, conversational AI, and MCP integrations.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead development of production AI products including chatbots and document processing systems.
• Design and implement centralized AI platform with model routing, vector search, and MCP integrations.
• Build scalable AI products integrating with accounting systems, document repositories, and external APIs.
