Job summary

Locke in San Francisco seeks Members of Technical Staff to build AI agents at the heart of our products. You will own projects from prototype to production, working close to founders and policy stakeholders and taking real ownership from day one.

Responsibilities include building retrieval pipelines, designing eval frameworks, and collaborating with non-technical teams to deliver fast, reliable agent tools for government-facing work. Equity, competitive salary, and PTO accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering background with full-stack product work or applied AI/ML.
• Experience building and shipping real LLM-powered products and agents.
• Familiar with modern AI stack: agent workflows, retrieval, evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Build and own AI agents end-to-end from prototype to production.
• Ship tools for policy staff to use and improve speed and accuracy.
• Develop retrieval/data pipelines feeding agents with legislative/regulatory info.
• Design evaluation frameworks to quantify and improve agent outputs.
• Collaborate closely with non-technical teams to ensure user-centric tools.
