Shift Technology is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to anchor AI capabilities, prototype and scale AI/LLM systems, and shape engineering strategy.

You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to design and ship production-grade agentic workflows, MCP patterns, and tooling integrations, while mentoring teams. The role blends hands-on coding with architectural leadership in a fast-paced AI environment on Azure.

Qualifications

• Strong backend software engineering with GenAI/LLM experience.
• Hands-on with agentic frameworks and MCP, RAG pipelines.
• Experience deploying AI systems to production on Azure.

Responsibilities

• Build production-ready agentic workflows and tool-calling integrations.
• Bridge AI prototypes to production-grade microservices on Azure.
• Establish AI quality, observability, and latency optimization.
• Mentor squads and lead design reviews.
