General Motors is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to architect and deliver AI‑driven analytics experiences across telematics, aftersales, and energy data. You will turn complex data into trusted, natural‑language answers that empower engineers, analysts, product teams, and leaders to make faster, better decisions.
You’ll work at the intersection of AI, analytics, software engineering, and data products to transform governed data into scalable, AI‑ready experiences.
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren Global Technical Center or Austin Technical Center three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days].
We’re looking for a hands-on Staff AI Engineer to build the next generation of analytics experiences on top of trusted telematics, aftersales, and energy data. This role focuses on turning complex data into clear, natural-language answers to important business questions—not generic chatbots or demos, but real systems that help people ask better questions, get trusted answers, and make decisions faster.
You will work at the intersection of AI, analytics, software engineering, and data products—transforming governed datasets and domain expertise into scalable, natural-language intelligence. You will help turn reusable data products into AI‑ready experiences that support engineers, analysts, product teams, leaders, customer care teams, service operations, and other users across the enterprise.

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.
