Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Staff AI & Data Engineer specializing in Databricks to design and build enterprise-grade pipelines, transform data, and enable AI-ready data products. The role emphasizes strong data engineering and GenAI capabilities across cross-domain analytics in a remote setting.

The candidate should deliver scalable, production-grade solutions with focus on governance, data quality, and secure data handling, while contributing to semantic layers and AI agent readiness.

Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and SQL.
• Strong Python and SQL development skills.
• Experience building scalable batch and/or streaming data pipelines.
• Deep understanding of Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architectures.
• Experience with Unity Catalog and governed enterprise data environments.
• Experience with Git-based development, CI/CD, automated testing, and production deployment.
• Experience with Databricks Lakeflow or comparable orchestration technologies.
• Experience developing production AI solutions with security and governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade data pipelines on Databricks.
• Ingest data from enterprise applications, databases, APIs, SaaS platforms, files, and other sources.
• Build Bronze, Silver, and Gold medallion architectures.
• Implement change data capture and incremental processing.
• Standardize data across source systems and enforce data quality.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, lineage, and governance for pipelines.
• Develop AI-ready data products and semantic layers for cross-domain analytics.
• Support AI agents using trusted enterprise data and governance controls.
