CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and modernize mission-critical technology for the Claims Adjudication organization. You will lead architecture and hands-on development across cloud-native platforms, AI integration, and secure pipelines.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with stakeholders, and delivery of scalable AI-enabled solutions while maintaining reliability and integration with existing systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience including enterprise-scale systems.
• Strong architecture across distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven and cloud-native platforms.
• Hands-on coding in Python, Java, React and related frameworks.
• 2+ years in Generative AI/Agentic AI or AI/ML applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of scalable enterprise software.
• Establish architecture principles, patterns, reference architectures, and guardrails.
• Lead reviews, discussions, and technical decisions with teams and stakeholders.
• Design and deploy cloud-native solutions including APIs, microservices, CI/CD, and real-time streaming.
• Hands-on coding, reviews, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
• Partner with business teams to identify AI use cases and translate into scalable solutions.
• Deploy AI agents and Generative AI workflows with tool calling and orchestration.
