Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Staff Product Owner for Agentic Product Ownership to set AI-native product direction and lead requirements and backlog strategy across domains. The role requires deep product experience and the ability to coordinate with data science and engineering.

You will mentor senior product owners, serve as escalation point for decisions, and drive adoption of agentic practices across teams, including vendor collaboration and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related technical field.
• 7-10 years in Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Systems Engineer, or Software Engineer roles in a regulated industry.
• Experience defining AI-enabled product capabilities and multi-omics systems within a regulated environment.
• Proficiency directing AI-assisted product ownership tools including requirements drafting and backlog grooming.

The Staff Product Owner, Agentic Product Ownership sets AI-native product direction for a domain or product area, leading requirements and backlog strategy built around agentic tools and approaches. This role has the product depth and organizational influence to drive adoption of agentic product ownership practices, including agent orchestration and oversight, across teams, and serves as a senior escalation point for product and requirements decisions.

• Drive prioritized AI-native capability delivery with vendors, data science, and engineering across the domain.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
• Work Experience: 7-10 years as Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Systems Engineer, or Software Engineer in a regulated industry, including direction-setting across a domain or product area, and early, hands‑on adoption of agentic or AI-assisted product ownership tools.
• Preferred: Experience in the clinical diagnostics or life sciences industry, defining AI-enabled product capabilities and multi-omics capable systems (e.g., genomics, proteomics) within a regulated environment. Requirements strategy and direction-setting across a domain, including EARS syntax standards.
• Proficiency directing AI-assisted product ownership tools within the personal workflow (e.g., requirements drafting, backlog grooming), including setting standards for their use across the team.
• Cross‑functional stakeholder management, coordinating priorities and trade‑offs across regulatory, commercial, and technical partners.

Location

This position must be based in Irvine, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $137,600 to $189,200 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
