Job summary

Redwire’s Goleta facility seeks an Advanced Programs Engineer, Staff to join the team in Goleta, CA. The role blends mechanical engineering with business development, focusing on configuring deployable solar array systems and defining system architectures for new pursuits.

The candidate should have 8+ years in mechanical/aerospace engineering, CAD experience, and strong leadership with a passion for space exploration. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of mechanical or aerospace engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with spacecraft structures or mechanisms.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Experience with Space Solar Array power analysis.
  • US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship not accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Lead in Business Pursuits: technical lead for new solar array business pursuits.
  • Configuring Solar Array Designs: CAD models, sizing power systems, collaborate with structural analysis to produce proposal volumes.
  • Reviewing and Guiding Customer Requirements: develop SOWs, SDILs, and Verification-Compliance Matrices.
  • Subcontractor Liaison: technical contact for subcontractors and ensure effective communication with supply chain on proposals.
  • Strategic Contribution to Growth: contribute to marketing and sales strategies and participate in IRAD projects.
  • Collaborate on Product Design: cross-functional collaboration to stay current on product designs and market needs.
