Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is seeking an actuary to participate in the implementation, maintenance and basic analysis of models that use actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions.

You will run, build and analyze results of basic models and develop oral and written presentation skills while learning core business and actuarial concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
• ASA and MAAA membership.
• At least 3 years of actuarial experience.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
• PC proficiency to include Word and Excel.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for participating in implementation, maintenance and basic analysis of models, studies and systems which use actuarial principles for the purposes of pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions; running, building and analyzing results of basic models; developing oral and written presentation skills; and learning basic business and actuarial concepts.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• At least 3 years of actuarial experience.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
• PC proficiency to include Word and Excel.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial health insurance products (Fully Insured, ASO, ACO, or Value-Based Care).
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Experience translating complex analytics for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Tableau, SQL, and advanced Excel.
• Experience with network analytics, open enrollment analysis, or healthcare data reporting.
• Ability to build relationships and effectively partner with clients and stakeholders.
• Health plan, payer, consulting, or healthcare analytics experience preferred.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

This position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Base Pay Range

$92,700.00 - $167,500.00
