Job summary

HCSC is seeking a qualified Actuarial Analyst to participate in the implementation, maintenance and basic analysis of models used for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions in our Chicago area office. The role combines in-office collaboration with 2 days remote in a flex (Hybrid) schedule.

A Bachelor's in actuarial science or related field, ASA exam progress and at least 2 years actuarial experience are required; compensation ranges from $69,800

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or economics.
• Completion of 3 ASA exam equivalents based on SOA specifications.
• At least 2 years of actuarial experience.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare documentation, facilitate training and participate in presentations.
• PC proficiency including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for participating in implementation, maintenance and basic analysis of models, studies and systems which use actuarial principles for the purposes of pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions; running, building and analyzing results of basic models; developing oral and written presentation skills; and learning basic business and actuarial concepts.

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Other Bachelor (or higher) Degrees may be considered.
• Completion of 3 ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) exam equivalents based on specifications in the Society of Actuaries' Education and Examination System.
• At least 2 years of actuarial experience.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.
• PC proficiency to include Word and Excel.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Access, SQL, Visual Basic or other programming skills.
• Actuarial experience in the health insurance or related field.

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days remote.

Compensation: $69,800.00 - $125,900.00
