Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) seeks a Staff Actuary in Chicago to apply statistics, finance theory, and actuarial principles to pricing, underwriting, reserving, forecasting, and related actuarial functions. The role requires independent work within the Actuarial department and may involve small projects.

The Staff Actuary uses statistics, financial theory, mathematics, and basic financial and actuarial principles to assess the impact of company decisions or situations. They have an in-depth knowledge of at least one market or business segment and operate with a high level of autonomy for daily purposes of pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions. This position can communicate complicated concepts, information, and recommendations regarding process, data, analysis, and results, while catering information to different audiences as needed. As necessary, position manages small projects with limited interaction outside Actuarial department.
Please note that this role is HYBRID with an in-office requirement of 3 days a week and VISA sponsorship is NOT available for this role.

Compensation: $92,700.00 - $167,500.00
