Job summary

CFS is seeking a Staff Accountant – Costing & Inventory in LaPorte, IN. This onsite role involves close collaboration with plant leadership and finance to manage inventory records, BOM costing, and variances.

You will support month-end close, perform journal entries and reconciliations, and help ensure accurate inventory valuation within the ERP system. This is ideal for an early-career accountant looking to grow in manufacturing costing and inventory analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–3 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or inventory experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis.
• ERP system experience preferred; familiarity with inventory or costing modules is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory tracking, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Maintain and review Bill of Materials (BOMs) and product costing within the ERP system.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and support reporting for plant leadership.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory valuation.
