Job summary

VSE Aviation, Inc. is hiring a Staff Accountant in Bridgeport, WV 26330. The role focuses on journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset management, and supporting SOX-compliant audits. This is a full-time, first-shift position within our Finance and Accounting team.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (or 3 years of related experience) and 4+ years in accounting, with strong Excel and MS Office skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 4+ years of relevant/technical accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Ability to read/write proficiently and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Execute journal entries and reconcile accounts for multiple business units.
• Manage Fixed Assets for the entire company.
• Assist during annual audits with focus on SOX compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
