Propel Recruitment is partnering with a growing, privately held real estate organization in San Francisco to identify a Staff Accountant for its accounting team. This role offers exposure to a multi-entity portfolio and a broadened monthly accounting cycle.

You’ll own reconciliations, GL activity, close, reporting, and participate in automation initiatives to improve efficiencies. The position emphasizes property accounting exposure and process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in bank reconciliations, GL accounting and month-end close.
• Experience across multiple entities, locations, properties, or bank accounts preferred.
• Real estate or property accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities.
• Support the month-end close process and ensure entities close accurately and on time.
• Reconcile bank activity to the GL and revenue information.
• Research and resolve discrepancies, unusual transactions, and outstanding items.
• Prepare and post journal entries and accounting adjustments.
• Review GL activity for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with property-level financial reporting and monthly reporting packages.
• Work with Yardi and other accounting/property management systems.
• Participate in technology and automation initiatives to improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to create greater efficiency as the portfolio grows.
