Job summary

George Moving & Storage, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant or Assistant Controller in the Accounting department to ensure compliance with accepted accounting principles and internal controls.

The role collaborates with the finance team to maintain accurate financial records and to implement policies. Responsibilities include preparing customer billings, payroll, bank reconciliations, monthly reports, and AR/AP activities, while supporting journal entries and ad hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or finance required.
• At least two years of related experience; moving industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and other Windows-based systems; strong data entry and financial record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Review Accounts Receivable Aging Reports to ensure timely collections.
• Assist with monthly reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare payroll, commissions, and payroll journal entries.
• Prepare customer billings and post to ledgers; assist with bank deposits.
• Prepare monthly reports and conduct special-project analysis.
• Interface with employees, government entities, and vendors to obtain or provide information.
