Job summary

EMA in Lakewood, CO is seeking a Staff Accountant to own daily accounting tasks and contribute to the team from day one. You’ll work closely with the VPs of Finance and Accounting on higher-level projects while developing a broad view of the company’s finances.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2+ years of accounting experience; strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; full-cycle experience a strong plus.
• Ownership mentality — capable of working independently and proactively.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable incl. invoicing and collections.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and GL reconciliations; post journal entries.
• Support month-end and year-end close; maintain schedules.
• Assist with payroll processing and timesheet reviews.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare for external audits and ad hoc analyses.
