God’s Love We Deliver in the New York metropolitan area is seeking a Staff Accountant to organize, analyze, and verify financial transactions and reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This role performs monthly close activities, supports budgeting and audits, and collaborates with a dedicated nonprofit finance team to sustain the organization’s mission and operational integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field.
• Prior experience in an accounting role, especially in a non-profit environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong proficiency with standard accounting software, including NetSuite.
• Demon strates superior attention to detail.
• Operates effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Demonstrates superior time management skills with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to finance staff on multiple tasks and projects.
• Month end work; bank reconciliations, journal entries (accruals, prepaids and deferrals).
• Review bank activity and document all cash receipts, including checks and electronic deposits.
• Preparation of monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and income/expense accounts.
• Assist with the annual budget process.
• Assist with the annual audit.
• Assist with the preparation of the 990 tax filings.
