Job summary

Big Country Title is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team in Abilene, Texas. Reporting directly to the VP of Accounting & Finance, this position will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple companies.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing recurring accounting responsibilities while helping improve processes and efficiency as our organization continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent accounting experience
• Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Process and reconcile company credit card transactions
• Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
• Support accounting operations across multiple entities
• Work within QuickBooks Online and other software
• Support year-end reporting, 1099 preparation, and CPA requests
• Identify discrepancies and help strengthen accounting controls
