Job summary

Big Country Title is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team in Abilene, TX. You will report to the VP of Accounting & Finance and help maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling recurring accounting tasks while improving processes and efficiency as the organization grows.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
• Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Process and reconcile company credit card transactions.
• Perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Support accounting operations across multiple entities.
• Work within QuickBooks Online and other software.
• Support year-end reporting, 1099 preparation, and CPA requests.
• Identify discrepancies and help strengthen accounting controls.
