Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Hazard, KY. The role focuses on timely, accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and related exhibits in accordance with accounting principles.

You will reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare schedules for auditors, and assist with tax returns and budgets as needed. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years of experience, with strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• Three to five years of accounting experience required
• Experience preparing monthly financial statements and reconciling asset and liability accounts required
• Experience preparing tax returns and performing various accounting functions preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares and evaluates the monthly financial statement, related exhibits and memorandums.
• Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts on a timely basis.
• Prepares schedules used by auditors to verify accounting records.
• Prepares month-end financial package including reports and exhibits.
• May prepare various tax returns and financial surveys.
• May review and approve invoices for accuracy and payment.
• May assist in budget preparation.
• Back-up for teammates as needed.
• Assist in development and maintenance of general ledger policies.
