Job summary

Kforce has a client in Jacksonville, FL seeking a Staff Accountant for full-time, onsite work to support month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting and general accounting.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, assist with close, support audits, and contribute to process improvements. A Bachelor's in Accounting and 3–5 years of experience are required; CPA preferred. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3–5 years accounting and/or audit experience.
• CPA designation or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Complete cash and non-cash balance sheet reconciliations, including research and resolution of reconciling items.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and other assigned accounting processes.
• Support financial reporting and various accounting functions as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• As a Staff Accountant, you will respond to internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with follow-up and resolution of unclaimed property items.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned.
