Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. is seeking a Staff Accountant in Davidson, NC to support month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet/PL analysis across multiple entities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, with CPA/public accounting experience a plus, and proficiency with spreadsheets, SAP or OneStream a plus. You will interact with various managers, maintain controls, and participate in process improvements while contributing to MSC’s culture and commitment to growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills are required.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software; SAP/OneStream knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger and generate managerial reports and financial statements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries for Inventory activity and reconcile related accounts.
• Participate in month end close, analyze variances, and perform account analyses and bank reconciliations.
• Perform treasury functions and reconciliations as needed.
• Interact with other department managers and assist where required.
• Maintain and organize sensitive records for audits.
• Aggregate data from multiple sources and report findings as needed.
• Collaborate with various groups to drive process improvements.
• Assist in implementing accounting practices and internal controls.
• Support MSC culture and company unity of purpose.
• Participate in special projects and take on additional duties as required.
