Job summary

Medical Services of America in Lexington, SC seeks an Accountant to manage standard monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, supporting month-end reporting and audit trails.

The candidate will work with Microsoft Dynamics GP Payroll & HR and Microsoft Office, bringing strong attention to detail and clear communication. A Bachelor’s in Accounting and 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of two years of accounting experience preferred.
• Microsoft Dynamics GP Payroll & HR software experience strongly preferred.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to work under limited supervision and excellent communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Create standard monthly journal entries (inter-company, standard reclassification and booking entries).
• Edit, obtain approvals for and post monthly journal entries created by others.
• Print and maintain month-end audit trail documentation.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end reports.
• Coordinate and perform audits of general ledger accounts and accounts payable vendors as directed.
• Research and respond to monthly P&L inquiry forms submitted by field personnel.
• Assist in general ledger report development and design and requested modifications.
• Assist in the maintenance of the fixed asset sub ledger.
• Update and maintain standard accounting desk procedures/documentation in a centralized area.
• Serve as a standard back-up for banking report preparation and general treasury services.
• Assist controller and senior accountant as needed.
