Job summary

CFS in Granger, Indiana is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and financial reporting. The role involves posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month-end close.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience and strong Excel skills, with experience in ERP/accounting systems. Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, salary range $60,000 to $75,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Prepare financial reports and assist with variance analysis
• Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for financial transactions
• Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation for auditors
• Review financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2+ years of accounting experience

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting

Microsoft Excel

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
