Job summary

Boats Group is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in Miami, FL to join our US Accounting team. You will assist in month-end close, prepare journal entries and financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll investigate discrepancies, prepare reconciliations, and participate in annual audits, with a hybrid work model and a path toward broader finance responsibilities in a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting and 2+ years of relevant financial experience (incl. internships)
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
• Superior Excel and communication skills for diverse audiences
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
• CPA preferred; hybrid work with Brickell office Tue-Thu every other week; relocation not offered

Staff Accountant Miami, FL Boats Group is excited to expand our US Accounting team and is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our accounting and finance team, you’ll report directly to the Accounting Manager and play an integral role in shaping the success of our organization. Bring your expertise to a dynamic, highly visible position where you can make a lasting impact across teams and functions!

What You’ll Do

• Assist in month-end close process for the company; prepare monthly general ledger journal entries; prepare financial statements/analyses; ensure all deliverables meet established deadlines and GAAP compliance with all financial transactions
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities; identify trends/anomalies; research management inquiries; provide solutions to meet business needs
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations; ensure proper supporting documentation and timely resolution of all discrepancies
• Participate in the annual audit process and compliance reporting for federal, state, and local taxing and regulatory agencies
• Establish and implement procedural and process changes necessary to improve accuracy and efficiencies across the accounting department

What You Should Have

• Bachelor’s in Accounting and 2+ years of relevant financial experience (including internships)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions
• Superior Excel and communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
• Strong business acumen is a must, as well as strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to draw conclusions based on data
• CPA preferred
• We are a hybrid organization with team gatherings in our Brickell office from Tuesday to Thursday every other week. At this time, we are unable to offer relocation assistance.
