As a Staff Accountant III, you may lead the preparation of complex bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting assignments. You’ll leverage your advanced accounting expertise to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while also guiding junior team members. We are seeking a Staff Accountant III who will operate as a player/coach and champion of the organization, while teaching junior accountants, preparing and reviewing bookkeeping for individuals, companies, or organizations.

What You Will Bring, Do, and Own
  1. Leadership & Oversight: Mentor junior staff and answer questions or problem solve when needed.
  2. Advanced Accounting & Analysis: Reconcile bank accounts monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of client data. Allocate expenditures to the correct accounts according to departmental procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Suggest and implement process modifications to enhance accuracy and efficiency to ensure compliance with financial standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. Financial Reporting & Strategy: Oversee advanced financial reporting, providing strategic insights. Collaborate with leadership on financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.
  4. Client Relations & Communication: Engage with clients to understand needs and provide solutions. Present financial data and insights to clients clearly and effectively, ensuring their understanding and satisfaction.
  5. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend updates. Resolve complex accounting challenges.
  6. Performance Metrics: Achieve a billable percentage of 90% and a realization rate of 90% each quarter.
  7. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as needed to support team and organizational goals.
Who You Are
  1. You have great knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, with the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
  2. You work with high accuracy, attention to detail, managing multiple priorities efficiently and consistently meet deadlines.
  3. You can analyze financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
  4. You communicate financial information clearly and effectively to clients and team members.
  5. You build strong relationships through exceptional client service and strategic problem-solving.
  6. You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced spreadsheets, and accounting software and can learn new systems quickly.
  7. You understand the importance of confidentiality and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  8. You never let them see you sweat and handle high-paced, stressful situations with ease.
Experience and Education You Will Need
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. Equivalent experience with comparable knowledge and abilities will be considered.
  3. At least three years of proven accounting experience required.
  4. Experience in public accounting or leading complex accounting projects preferred.
  5. Excellent understanding of accounting practices and procedures.
  6. Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
