The Accountant III is responsible for all aspects required for the preparation of financial statements and analysis for all assigned entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries, including posting and verification in the general ledger.
  • Assist other departments in verifying check tracers and place stop payments where appropriate.
  • Maintain general ledgers based on the company’s chart of accounts.
  • Review, monitor, verify, and reconcile all monies deposited and disbursed for each assigned entity.
  • Review and analyze Capitation Revenue, Membership, Specialty PMPM, and other management reports monthly for operational and financial issues.
  • Produce monthly financial statements for each entity, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement by product, and Cash Flow Statement, ensuring timely availability for review.
  • Maintain account analysis files and backup for all balance sheet accounts, including detailed IBNR analysis by product line.
  • Understand profitability drivers of an IPA, analyze performance, and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain proper accounting records, backups, and reports per Tenet policies and GAAP.
  • Maintain knowledge of all entities managed by CMS.
  • Develop and monitor effective controls to oversee the financial health of managed entities.
  • Serve as liaison among managed entities, physicians, CMS staff, and Tenet.
  • Assist external and internal auditors, including health plans, tax accountants, and government agencies, with document requests.
  • Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Finance staff as needed, including claims payable processing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller and CFO.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of all financial documents and records.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in Managed Care.
  • Proficiency with computers and office software.
Physical Demands
  • Light effort (lift up to 10 lbs), mostly sedentary, with bending, stooping, and reaching required.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $66,768 - $106,704 annually, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
  • Management positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
