Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. in Colorado is seeking a Staff Accountant II / Systems Support Accountant to support the Accounting Manager and staff in monthly close, ad-hoc data queries, and documentation of key policies and procedures. Pay rate ranges from $23.62 to $34.45 per hour, dependent on education and experience. This is a full-time on-site position located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2+ years experience in account reconciliation, general ledger, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting system rules to ensure valid account combinations.
• Administer financial reporting system, including account hierarchies and creation of new reports.
• Review documents that fail to post to the general ledger and resolve conflicts.
• Engage in short-term and long-term projects to improve accounting systems and procedures.
• Perform ad-hoc data queries and analyze account details; report findings to management.
• Communicate material errors and issues to senior management.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify process differences.
• Set up and maintain AP suppliers in the GL system.
• Month-end close: allocate expenses and run reports.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
