Job summary

Wagner Equipment Co. is seeking a Staff Accountant I in Aurora, CO to support the Accounting Supervisor and Senior Accountants with monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.

Responsibilities include reviewing invoices, maintaining spreadsheets, and assisting in audit schedules. Requires a high school diploma or GED and 1+ years in accounting or related clerical work; degree preferred. Salary range reflects hourly pay and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Management with concentration in Accounting.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of practical experience in account reconciliations, general ledger, and reporting.
  • 1+ years administrative/clerical experience.
  • 1+ years customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of monthly reports and analyses.
  • Reviews and enters invoices.
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, charts, databases, etc. used in the monthly reporting and analysis.
  • Performs tasks in monthly closing process as assigned, including preparation of journal entries, running reports and queries, performing research and analysis, etc.
  • Prepares and enters account adjustments and accruals.
  • Works closely with Accounting Supervisor or Senior Accountants to resolve any/all identified issues.
  • Completes assigned account reconciliations monthly.
  • Reviews monthly reports in connection with the assigned account reconciliations.
  • Reviews invoices and payments to allocate to assigned accounts.
  • Implements steps for resolution of identified issues as outlined by Accounting Supervisor.
  • Provides backup to mission-critical activities, special projects, and analyses as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Pay Rate:$21.60 - $30.11 per hourPay rate is dependent upon education & experience.
