Planet Fitness is seeking a General Staff Accountant II to support daily accounting functions, monthly close responsibilities, and GAAP financial reporting. You will prepare journal entries and reconciliations, assist with budgets and projections, and ensure tax compliance while maintaining strong documentation.

This role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work with ERP systems like NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting; related experience may substitute.
• 2–4 years accounting or audit experience, including audit-cycle workpapers.
• Experience with GAAP and GAAP financial reporting schedules.
• Public accounting audit experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned processes and close workstreams through completion.
• Proactively manage deliverables to meet close deadlines; flag delays with resolution path.
• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare audit-ready journal entries and reconciliations with proper documentation.
• Contribute to annual budgets and performance projections.
• Assist with GAAP financial reporting schedules, audit support, and tax workpapers.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal tax codes.
• Research accounting questions and escalate when technical judgment is needed.
