Job Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and financial statements. As a vital member of the Company’s finance team, the Staff Accountant must work closely with other departments to understand, maintain and improve accounting procedures, ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial reporting requirements, and ultimately furnish stakeholders with quality, relevant information in a timely manner.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Standardize, identify process improvements, and perform tasks related to month end close. This includes preparing and entering several journals entries in the Company’s ERP System (SAP).
- Record and reconcile daily cash activities of the Company. Provide information needed for the weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations in accordance with Company Policy and as assigned by the Finance Department.
- Post journal entries for recurring payroll and reconcile payroll related cash transactions.
- Evaluate and uphold proper internal controls and related processes.
- Analyze results and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and relevant information at both a financial and business level.
- Assist in preparation of information for external audit activities.
- Prepare internal financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned by Finance Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar field
- One year of corporate or public accounting or similar experience
- Outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment, and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Collaborative team player with positive attitude, effective communication, and analytical skills
- Competent in accounting principles and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of corporate accounting experience or similar in a manufacturing environment
- ERP expertise, with SAP preferred
- Experience reconciling cash or performing payroll accounting entries
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- The work is sedentary in nature, working on a computer at a desk for most of the day.
- Work schedule is hybrid in our Eagan, MN HQ office.
