Job summary

Axelon is seeking an accounting professional for a 6-month onsite role in Urbandale, IA. You will support general accounting tasks, perform disbursements and billing, and help prepare consolidated statements.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree and at least 1 year of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail. Local GAAP/tax knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; accounting knowledge preferred.
• 1 year of accounting or finance experience is expected.
• Strong Excel skills and comfortable with financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting support under supervision and apply standard accounting practices.
• Perform disbursements, billing, payments, and related reports.
• Analyze accounts and client insured records for accuracy.
• Prepare variances, disbursement, billing, and statements analyses.
• Contribute to development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, SSAE16, tax rules, and local regulations.

Job Details

• Work Mode: Onsite


• Duration: 6 Months

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting support under general supervision, requiring familiarity with and experience in accounting practices.


• Perform disbursements, billing, applying payments, and preparing administrative system accounting reports and/or consolidated statements.


• Analyze and maintain accounts and/or client insured records.


• Prepare and analyze various accounting reports including variances, disbursement, billing, and statements.


• Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures, and process improvements for general accounting functions.


• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures, tax regulations, local GAAP, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations regarding financial matters.

Requirements

• Associate's degree


• Minimum 1 year of experience


• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel

Preferred Skills

• Prior finance or accounting experience


• Good organizational skills & teamwork


• Experience with processing expense reports, cash control, general ledger (GL), and accruals


• Knowledge of month-end close processes, financial reporting and analysis, preparation of financial reports, bank reconciliations, Oracle Database, customer billing, revenue analysis, financial analysis, and account reconciliations
