Sunbird is seeking a Staff Accountant to act as finance contact between departments and customers, optimizing processes, managing software revenue recognition, and supporting growth.

The role involves month-end close support, invoicing, billing, tax filings, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting. Hybrid work arrangement and a salary up to $75,000 per year are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in multiple accounting systems and Excel, and General Ledger systems.

Responsibilities

• Review financial data discrepancies, investigate, and assist with accounting adjustments and corrections.
• Prepare and import monthly journal entries, analyze balance sheet accounts, and generate A/R aging and financial reports.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, review global credit applications, and coordinate collections to optimize A/R performance.
• Process accounts payable, resolve system errors, and ensure accurate coding of expense reports.
• Assist with sales tax filings, corporate tax preparation, and audit support documentation.
• Implement solutions to maximize departmental productivity and workflow.
• Assist in annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Monitor expenses and support cost-control initiatives through analysis.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and reconciliations.
