Job summary

CP Engineers is seeking an Accounting Professional to support daily accounting operations, payroll administration, accounts payable, financial reporting, and client billing. The role collaborates with accounting, operations, project management, and leadership to ensure accurate, timely financial information and efficient business operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, billing, or a related accounting function.
• Experience using ADP payroll processing; ADP TotalSource a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in professional services, engineering, architecture, construction, or project-based billing preferred.
• Familiarity with Deltek Ajera or similar project accounting software preferred.
• Understanding of utilization reporting, revenue reporting, and project billing.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll through ADP, including reviewing payroll data and approvals.
• Prepare and distribute utilization reports to support leadership and project managers.
• Prepare and maintain revenue reports and ensure accuracy.
• Manage full accounts payable process: invoices, coding, approvals, payments, vendor records.
• Assist with monthly client billing and coordination with project managers.
• Maintain organized accounting records and reconciliations.
• Support month-end accounting activities and internal reporting.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, employees, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Provide backup support for additional accounting and administrative tasks.
