Las Vegas Sands Corp. seeks a Staff Accountant to support the Corporate Accounting team with monthly consolidation and close, and to assist with internal and external reporting activities.

The role emphasizes adherence to accounting policies and professional conduct. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience, and strong communication skills to interact with management and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in accounting or finance role.
• CPA preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly corporate consolidation and financial closing process, including preparation of recurring and non-recurring journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Perform fluctuation analyses and investigate unusual variances.
• Provide accurate, timely and usable reports to Corporate Accounting department.
• Review and prepare account reconciliations of general ledger balances.
• Ensure that all aspects of financial practice across the Company’s operating units are consistent and in compliance with established corporate policies and procedures.
• Manage consistent application of the general ledger across the Company’s operating units.
• Assist with various functions of LVSC’s external and internal financial reporting process (SEC filings, earnings related materials, Audit Committee materials, statutory reporting, etc.).
• Assist with complex accounting transactions, including technical accounting research, creating supporting schedules and drafting the accounting memo.
• Advise management of problem areas and request assistance as necessary.
• Identify potential problems, recommend sound solutions and support implementation.
• Support departmental and company decisions, even if unpopular.
