Job summary

Skilled Wound Care in Playa Vista, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing healthcare team. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting across multiple entities, with a focus on GAAP and HIPAA compliance.

You will manage general ledger, month-end close, A/P & A/R, and provide insights through budgets and variance analyses, leveraging an AI-enabled software suite and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, healthcare or corporate setting.
• Ability to handle multiple company books and maintain accuracy.
• Strong Excel skills and openness to AI and new accounting software like QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books by posting journal entries for multiple companies.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing with bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process A/P & A/R with precision, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts and variances.
• Assist with audits and prepare schedules with meticulous documentation.
• Utilize advanced software and AI-driven tools to automate tasks and improve reporting.
• Ensure GAAP and healthcare-specific regulations compliance (HIPAA, CMS).

The Role: Impact & Responsibilities

As our Staff Accountant, you will be a vital part of our day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy and transparency across our various entities.

Financial Operations & Reporting

General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate books by preparing and posting journal entries for multiple companies.

The Closing Process: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

A/P & A/R Mastery: Process transactions with precision, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.

Analysis & Insights: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to help drive business decisions.

Audit, Compliance & Innovation

Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and meticulous documentation.

Tech Integration: Utilize our advanced software suite and AI-driven tools to automate routine tasks and enhance reporting accuracy.

Ethical Stewardship: Ensure strict compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific regulations (HIPAA, CMS guidelines).

What You Bring to the Table

Experience: 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, in healthcare or a corporate setting required.

Multi-Company Comfort: Ability to handle the complexities of managing accounts for multiple sets of books.

Tech-Forward Mindset: Advanced Excel skills and a passion for embracing AI and new accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Associate’s degree with relevant experience considered).
