Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to support daily accounting, compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will reconcile statements, prepare month-end close entries, and assist with audits, contributing to accurate financial reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a 4-year accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with documentation and reports.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank statements daily and research discrepancies as needed.
• Communicate regularly with the Controller and Operations leadership.
• Identify, research, and track transactional processing errors.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor and follow up on balance sheet account variances.
• Prepare accruals, journal entries, and reports for the month-end close.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation.
• Produce ad hoc financial reports as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
