Job summary

Clark Nuber, PS is seeking a Staff Accountant to strengthen our accounting team in Bellevue. You will support month-end close, prepare financial statements, and assist with payroll, tax filings, and AP/AR activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and a balance of work across the accounting function. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and familiarity with payroll processing; Workday experience is preferred, with a focus on

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and payroll processing.
• Experience in a professional services environment is preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check, including a credit check, as a condition of employment.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Working knowledge of payroll processing and wage/deduction requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements through data analysis, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and journal entry preparation, including accruals.
• Record and reconcile bank transactions, investigate discrepancies, and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local tax returns.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts through timely reconciliations and proper accrual accounting.
• Provide backup support for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Maintain fixed asset records in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulations, including capitalization, depreciation, and annual inventory.
• Review disbursements for accuracy, internal controls, and policy adherence.
• Participate in special projects, system enhancements, and process improvements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on accounting processes.
• Establish annual goals aligned with departmental and firm objectives.
• Meet with the Controller to review priorities and development opportunities.
